Overnight stays and camps with capybaras

Farm stays, glamping sites and zoo sleepovers where capybaras are part of the deal.

Most capybara encounters last an hour. A few places let you stay the night.

Types of stay

  • Farm stays. Working farms that host guests and keep capybaras among the animals. Expect early mornings and a feeding session.
  • Glamping and resort animal parks. Mostly in Japan: resorts with animal areas where capybaras wander the grounds at dawn.
  • Zoo sleepovers. Family overnight programs inside a zoo, with a night walk and a morning behind-the-scenes. Capybaras are one stop among many.

How to find them

Filter the atlas by farms and petting parks, then check the venue’s site for stay, lodge or camp. Where we know a venue offers nights, it’s in the description.

Ask before booking

  1. Is capybara contact supervised, and is it guaranteed or weather-dependent?
  2. Are the capybaras housed near guest rooms (noise, smell, early wake-ups)?
  3. What’s the cancellation policy for animal-health closures?
