Live capybara cams you can watch right now

Zoos and sanctuaries that stream their capybaras, and when to tune in to actually see them.

Capybaras are excellent webcam animals: they barely move, they lie in piles, and when something finally happens it’s usually a duck.

Where to find cams

  • Zoo YouTube channels. Several Japanese and American zoos run seasonal live streams, especially during the hot spring season. Search YouTube for “capybara live” and sort by live now.
  • Sanctuary cams. Rescues sometimes stream their enclosures to support donations. Look for a Live cam link on the sanctuary’s site.
  • Aquarium and petting-zoo cams. Less common, but a few venues in our atlas stream their capybara yard.

When to watch

Capybaras are most active in the early morning and around dusk in their local time, and during feeding. Midday is nap time. Winter streams from Japan are best around 1–3pm JST, when the baths are open.

Why no fixed list?

Streams start and stop with the seasons and we’d rather not send you to a dead link. Capy keeps this page updated; if you know a reliable cam, send it in.
